SERVPRO® of Northwest Dayton purchased
about 5 acres of land on the corner of Jacks Lane and Diamond Mill Road in
Clayton, OH. Clayton is located in about the middle of our two franchise territories
and is just northwest of Dayton, OH. A 15,000 square foot facility was designed
with about 3,000 square feet of office space, 9,000 square feet of high bay
storage and cleaning areas and an additional bay of 3,000 square feet. Design
was done in late 2002 and early 2003 and construction began in March 2003.
The grade required some adjustment to
get to soil that would support the proposed structure. Once those adjustment
were made, the concrete floor and the steel girders went up quickly.
The exterior walls provide several colors
and textures. Sides of the warehouse not facing the street are panel rib siding
with Kynar paint. Walls facing Jacks Lane and Diamond Mill Road have a fiberstone
aggregate panel above masonry wainscot of split faced block. Exterior colors
are light earth tones with dark green trim.
With the majority of the exterior completed,
attention was turned to the interior. Interior walls were metal studs. Vinyl
tile was used in the hallways and industrial grade carpeting in the offices.
Ceramic tile was used in the entry to the office complex. The office area
includes six individual offices, a reception office/lounge, an office supply
room, a break room and kitchen, rest rooms, and a conference room. The bay
area includes an ozone room, a laundry area, two chemical storage rooms, an
equipment & tool shed and a rest room. The bay has two front and back
sets of overhead doors for truck drive through.

In August 2003, the building was nearly
complete and the move-in was started.
Official occupancy occurred on October
1, 2003. A ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted with dignitaries from Clay
Township and the City of Clayton.
In 2007 the 3,000 square foot extra bay,
which had been vacant, was modified. Approximately 1,800 square feet were
used to build and equip a wet electronics cleaning facility complete with
a de-ionized water cleaning station and a high temperature, low humidity drying
chamber. The other 1,200 square feet were used to build a training and conference
center. The center has tables and chairs to accommodate about 40 people and
audio visual equipment for making presentations. Additional rest rooms were
added and a kitchenette was incorporated into the back of the room.
